2022-23 Bowls NSW State Championships
Zone 10 players and their results:-
Singles
Men’s Open Singles
Michael Phillips won his first round game match and was unable to hang on in games 2 & 3.
Men’s Senior Singles
Greg Laws (Carlingford District) won all three of the round robin matches. Greg was defeated by Bernie Melville (Alexandria Erskinville) in the Semi-Final.
Men’s Reserve Singles
Wayne Ede (WPH Sports) had three close wins to finish on top of his section in the round robin stage. In the Semi-Final, Wayne defeated Nathan Kent (Campbelltown) to progress to the Final where he was defeated by Kate Carriage (Nowra).
Women’s Open Singles
Maelene Reynolds (NBC Sports) kicked off her campaign with a strong win in Round 1. Success in the following rounds was not for Maelene this time round.
Women’s Senior Singles
Deborah Murray (NBC Sports) won two of her round robin matches to finish second in her section and missing out on the finals.
Pairs
Men’s Pairs
Zone 10 was represented by Billy Harkins and Alan Wares had a very close 1st round match, received a forfeit in 2nd round and another close result in the 3rd round, finishing second in their section.
Men’s Senior Pairs
Vic Ciscato & John Farr (NBC Sports) won their first two games and were defeated in the 3rd game, leaving them in second in section.
Men’s Reserve Pairs
Warwick Weekley & John Champion (Wenty Leagues) lost their first two matches then recovered to win the 3rd match.
Women Pairs
Angela Platt & Maelene Reynolds (NBC Sports) had 2 out of 3 wins in the round robin, although missed out on the finals.
Women’s Senior Pairs
Florence Lee & Bobbie Cochrane (Castle Hill) had a tough section, losing all 3 games.
Mixed Pairs
Three teams from Zone 10 competed in the State Mixed Pairs Championship – Angela Platt & Brett Hughes (NBC Sports), Chrissy Cadman & Dale Maitland (Wenty Leagues), and Cameron Curtis (Wenty Leagues) & Chanel Chakouch (Cabramatta).

Triples
Men’s Triples
Zone 10 were represented by the team of Darren Morrison, Heath Lewis & Michael Phillips (Merrylands). They won two of their round robin matches and squeezed through to the finals on Score%.
In the Semi-Final they defeated Jamie Minter, Ian Lean & Shannon Gittoes (Raymond Terrace), before defeating Trevor Gillis, Craig Roberts & Lee Stinson (Warilla) in the Final.

Men’s Senior Triples
The Wenty Leagues team of Mark ‘Scruffy’ Barton, Trevor Imer & Dale Maitland had three strong winds to lead their section and progress to the Semi-Finals, where they were defeated by Greg Brims, Peter Stockham & Peter Taylor (Westport).
Men’s Reserve Triples
Roger Newman, Andrew Weaver & Paul Hodkinson (Castle Hill) recovered from a first game loss to win remaining games however missed out on a Finals berth.
Women’s Triples
Julie Lovejoy-Kennedy, Angela Platt & Maelene Reynolds NBC Sports) had impressive wins in the round robin to head into the Semi-Finals. The Semi-Final match against Collee Starr , Julie Baker & Billie Maas (Belrose) did not go to plan, resulting in Maelene and her team being narrowly defeated.
Women’s Senior Triples
Joy Young, Yvonne Mudiman & Florence Lee (Castle Hill) had one win from their round robin matches, and did not progress to the finals.
Fours
Men’s Fours
David Moody, Greg Carroll, Grant Gudmunson & Sam Hatch-Caccamo (Denistone Sports) produced round 1 victory and a loss in games 2 &3.
Men’s Senior Fours
