John Smith OAM Shield
This annual event honours John Smith OAM, a life member and past president of Zone 2 (Newcastle) who worked closely with other Zones in his capacity as the Chair of the Bowls NSW Match Committee, a position that John served in for 13 years. John also represented Newcastle as a bowler for 206 games.
The event is between the Open and Senior sides of Zone 2 (Newcastle), Zone 6 (Hunter/Upper Hunter), Zone 10 (Sydney North West) and Zone 15 (Central Coast).

Congratulations to Zone 2 on an amazing performance over the weekend, finishing with 54 out of a possible 60 points, losing only 4 rinks and drawing 2! They certainly proved to be a formidable combination.
